9The Arts Society was founded as the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) in 1968 to promote and advance aesthetic education, to cultivate the appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts and by giving aid to the conservation of our national artistic heritage.
Since 1991 The Arts Society Hampstead Heath (TASHH) has been a member society of NADFAS/TAS. Our society usually meets at 10:45 in the morning of the third Thursday of the month. These main meetings, held in Kenwood House, are in the form of an illustrated lecture. Our speakers, who are all experts in their specialist fields, are taken from a Directory maintained by TAS which ensures a high standard. We organise Visits to historical and cultural venues, and most years we organise a 4-5 day overseas Tour. This programme gives our members many opportunities to catch up with old friends, meet new people and visit new places.
You can find out more about all these events in the various sections of our web site.
TAS Hampstead Heath also supports The Magic Lantern, a charity which encourages children to take an interest in the arts.
We are a friendly group with a membership of around 190. If you would like to join our Waiting List, please go to the 'Joining Us' section for more information
